About the Site

As an amateur historian – B.A. University of Minnesota – I am mostly interested in medieval Scotland. But I have a passion for all things Celtic, and may post items on anything Celtic that has grabbed my attention. My DNA analysis tells me that I am Celtic to my core, with Scottish, Irish and British ancestors, so go figure! I currently have a library of about 900 Celtic items – and it continues to grow. I have been a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland for over ten years.

My primary purpose in launching this website is to provide Mores (of all spellings) around the world with access to the kind of history and information that is not typically available on clan websites. For instance, the knowledge that the Mures (of all spellings) in both Scotland and Ireland were of the Damnonian and Cruithne tribes. They were NOT Gaelic, but they were definitely Celtic, and among those tribes counted as the most ancient in the British Isles.
